The original Dedicated Forests 2004 (originally named Public Forests), consisted of all dedicated land and not just forests, so it was decided to split forest dedicated land from all other dedicated land to form Dedicated Forests 2014 and Other Dedicated Land 2014. Land is dedicated in perpetuity. Additions can be made to this dataset on a rolling basis (registered common land and open country is reviewed on a decadal basis, the last review was in 2014). The CRoW Act applies to England and Wales only.
